Who We Are
Northward Ministries is dedicated to empowering pastors and leaders of small to medium-sized churches through coaching, strategic planning, leadership training, and team development. Our goal is to come alongside churches as a trusted partner, helping them move northward—toward spiritual health, sustainable growth, and greater community impact.
Through customized, Christ-centered coaching and consulting, Northward Ministries helps pastors clarify vision, strengthen leadership structures, build effective teams, and navigate ministry challenges with confidence and clarity.
Dr. Griffin is a bi-vocational leader, who has over twenty-five years of experience as a technology leader, and over 25 years serving God’s Church. He currently serves as the Chief Servant Leader (Pastor) for First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Griffin has served as the pastor of First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for nearly a decade. During that period, he has seen the hand of God on his ministry. The church has experienced revitalization and significant holistic growth.
Through this experience God has ignited a passion within Dr. Griffin to empower small churches so that they flourish as spiritually vibrant, mission-driven communities led by empowered pastors and unified teams.
Dr. Griffin holds numerous degrees, professional certifications and graduate certificates in areas such as project management, program management, organizational change management, executive leadership, supply chain management, financial operations, and cybersecurity. He is a certified project management professional, a certified financial educator, a certified self-care coach, and a certified Actualized Performance professional, specializing in team building and leader development.
